Commerce Secretary Gaunch business listening tour visits Kanawha County Sept. 3

CHARLESTON, W.Va. —  Commerce Secretary Ed Gaunch will visit construction and automotive businesses in Kanawha County, Tuesday, Sept. 3, as part of an ongoing series of statewide listening tours.

“Under Governor Jim Justice’s leadership, West Virginia’s construction and automotive industries have been flourishing,” Gaunch said. “We want to recognize their success and hear what they need to continue that trend into the future.”

The first stop on Wednesday’s tour is Shafer Equipment, a family-owned heavy equipment rental and sales company in Clendenin. Next, the Commerce team will visit NGK Spark Plug USA in Sissonville as well as Peerless Block and Brick in St. Albans.

Following the tours, Secretary Gaunch will participate in a roundtable discussion with Kanawha County businesses. The roundtable event is hosted by the Charleston Area Alliance.
Another business listening tour is scheduled for Sept. 5 – 6.
