Commerce Secretary Gaunch taking business listening tour to Wood County Aug. 7 and 8

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — As part of his continuing series of listening tours focused on West Virginia businesses, Commerce Secretary Ed Gaunch will visit Wood County, Aug. 7 and 8.

The tour begins Wednesday, Aug. 7, in Parkersburg. The following day, Gaunch will make additional stops in Parkersburg and Davisville. These stops are part of a statewide tour the secretary has planned throughout the next few months.

“The tour creates an opportunity for us to talk directly face-to-face, person-to-person,” Gaunch said. “Business owners can tell me about their businesses, what is helping them to succeed and what they need to help improve the business climate.”

The Commerce secretary will meet with local economic development officials as well business owners.

“Our state values the important economic contribution of the companies, big and small, that do business in West Virginia,” Gaunch said. “We work as a team with local authorities and other state agencies to recruit new businesses and to assist our established companies in retaining existing jobs and creating growth opportunities for new jobs.”

Wednesday, Aug. 7

Parkersburg

10 a.m. – Kreinik Manufacturing.

1:30 p.m. – Wincore Windows.

3 p.m. – Gaskets, Packing & Seals.

Thursday, Aug. 8

Parkersburg

9:30 a.m. – Mister Bee Potato Chips.

Davisville

11:30 a.m. – Danser Inc.
